Where will my Jin Shin Jyutsu session take place?

Your Jin Shin Jyutsu harmonizing session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music may be played to help you relax.
You will lie on a table on your back.

Must I be undressed?

No. You will be asked to remove shoes and belt.
.

What parts of my body will be touched?

There are 26 safety energy locks on each side of the body. Many will be touched.
They are located on the face, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, feet, legs, back and chest.

What will the Jin Shin Jyutsu session feel like?

Jin Shin Jyutsu does not require heavy pressure nor massage.  You will be touched with hands (or fingers) at two locations.  As the body energy harmonizes, one or both hands will move to new locations (Safety Energy Locks).  When a blockage is cleared, occasionally a person may feel an urge to use the bathroom or experience nausea.  Notify your practitioner if you have such a sensation.  As your body becomes relaxed, you may fall asleep.  Bodywork is most effective when your body is not resisting.

What should I do during the Jin Shin Jyutsu session?

Prior to the harmonizing session, feel free to ask the practitioner any questions about the technique or the upcoming session. Make yourself comfortable.  Many people just close their eyes and completely relax, communicating if/when they need more or less pressure, another blanket, or anything else relevant to the session. If you have any questions regarding the session or about the particular technique you are receiving, feel free to ask.

How will I feel after the session?

Most people feel VERY relaxed. Many people fall asleep during the session. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days.

What are the benefits of Jin Shin Jyutsu

Jin Shin Jyutsu can help release chronic muscular tension and pain, improve circulation, increase joint flexibility, reduce mental and physical fatigue and stress, promote faster healing of injured muscular tissue, improve posture, and reduce blood pressure. Jin Shin Jyutsu is also known to promote better sleep, improve concentration, reduce anxiety and create an overall sense of well-being.

Are there any medical conditions that would make Jin Shin Jyutsu inadvisable?

No. The practitioner asks general health questions to better understand the body and projects to work on. It is very important that you inform the practitioner of any health problems.  Your practitioner will give you self help practices to perform at home.

Be aware that when a safety energy lock is opened a person might feel worse before noting improvement.

Also, this is a cumulative process.  Several sessions might be required to notice marked improvement of an ongoing "project."
